Abstract

The purpose of this study was two-fold. First, this paper was intended to review research on the importance of the training of parents of learning disabled children to foster understanding and acceptance of their children's handicaps and to aid in the remediation of their children's deficits and the strengthening of their children's assets. Secondly, this paper was intended to analyze and evaluate existing parent training programs in light of their potential to meet the needs of the parents of learning disabled children in the primary grades.
