Abstract

Chapter I was an attempt to present the reader with the characteristics of the autistic child, an overview of the problems this child encounters, and the use of behavior modification as a possible method of treatment. Chapter II was concerned with a review of significant literature in the area of behavior modification as a possible solution to the problems facing the autistic child. Chapter III concentrated on a summary of the literature reviewed and conclusions which might be drawn concerning the changes which are needed to increase the effectiveness of the behavior modification approach in the rehabilitation of autistic children.
