Abstract

This study explores the differences between age, gender, ethnicity and cause of parent death in coping with the loss of a family member or close friend among people who participated in a support group at Kyle's Korner in Wauwatosa, WI. The Dougy Center Outcome Measure was used to measure difficulty coping with loss. Ethnicity, gender, who died and cause of death affected difficulty in coping. Parents do not perceive differences in coping among their children. Overall satisfaction with center was high with parents having more satisfaction with center than children.
