Abstract

In order to formulate a Developmental Reading Program for the students of Wells Street Junior High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an analytical study of the seventh grade students was taken using Lorge-Thorndike I.Q. and Iowa Test of Basis Skills Achievement scores as the basis. This survey aims to show that the students at this particular high school are one disadvantaged group that are low in reading achievement and can benefit from a carefully devised reading program.
