Abstract

An understanding of the problems boys face in beginning reading experiences, the reasons for them, and adjustment of techniques and materials within the classroom experiences should help young boys and books to meet more meaningfully and joyfully. It is the purpose of this study to determine answers to questions which will make it possible for boys to more nearly realize their reading potentials. (1) What are some educational problems boys face? (2) What are the reasons for these problems? (3) What are some possible solutions? (4) How can the solutions be implemented in a school system?
