Abstract

The purpose or this study was to determine whether there was a significant difference in performance on the Gates-MacGinitie Comprehension Test between pupils who have received instruction from a basic reading text and pupils who have been instructed from Sullivan Programmed Reading. Further it was a secondary purpose of the study to determine whether boys or girls achieve significantly better in either program.
